Blight – for Three Word Wednesday

July 11, 2010

Three Word Wednesday this week set the challenge to make a poem out of this tricky triplet: acrid, bane, tepid. Below is my effort:

Blight

I rub my face
bored by the
sharpened teeth
of acrid, truthful maul

my self, gone
off the boil
drips and decays
till all that’s left
is tepid waste,

for nothing else
shall be the ruin
more fully
than this

bane of life:
the poisoned norm.
