Organic

Earth wafts with aid of H2O, hits
memories and with resonance
the result of desire, enlivens
your dusty image
scrubbing the dirt,
removing the soul from your bones
exhuming your image thus
returning you to me,
scraped free of the years
which threaten to tarnish

once again to nourish
my adult hands
working as carefully taught
removing the beginning,
the end, leaving
the delectable middle recollections
stark, reeking of basic needs

moving between water
and vapour, you cling
to the skin you helped
to cultivate;
I stand devouring your sustenance
hungry thanks given for the received,
still feeding me
even this far from the source.

Rejuvenated after the long, long whiteout
of your passing.
